About Ayodhya Tour
Ayodhya – The Sacred Birthplace of Lord Rama
Ayodhya, located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, is one of the seven Moksha-puris (sacred cities of liberation) in Hinduism and holds a place of paramount importance in Indian spiritual history. Revered as the birthplace of Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu, Ayodhya is a city where mythology, faith, and culture converge. Mentioned in ancient scriptures like the Ramayana, Skanda Purana, and Atharva Veda, Ayodhya is believed to have been founded by Manu, the first human in Hindu cosmology, and served as the capital of the Ikshvaku dynasty.
The most significant attraction is the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, built on the very site believed to be Lord Rama’s birthplace. After years of legal, political, and cultural deliberation, the grand Ram Mandir is now under construction and has become a national and spiritual symbol for millions of devotees. The temple's architecture is inspired by traditional Nagara-style design and is expected to become one of the most visited religious sites in the world upon completion.
Apart from Ram Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya is dotted with numerous ancient and sacred places, including the Hanuman Garhi Temple, where Lord Hanuman is believed to have guarded Ayodhya; Kanak Bhawan, which houses a beautifully adorned idol of Lord Rama and Sita; Nageshwarnath Temple, linked to Lord Rama’s son Kush; and Sita Ki Rasoi, a symbolic kitchen believed to be used by Sita during her time in Ayodhya. Pilgrims also visit the Guptar Ghat on the Sarayu River, where Lord Rama is believed to have taken Jal Samadhi.
Ayodhya is not only a religious destination but also a center for spiritual festivals and traditions, especially during Ram Navami, Diwali, and Kartik Purnima, when the city is lit with lamps and echoes with devotional hymns. In recent years, Ayodhya has seen significant infrastructural development aimed at enhancing pilgrim experience, including new roads, facilities, and spiritual tourism projects.
A visit to Ayodhya offers a blend of devotion, history, culture, and peace. Whether you are a seeker of spirituality, a devotee of Lord Rama, or a lover of Indian heritage, Ayodhya offers a timeless and transformative experience.
