Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Paro Airport

Activities
  • Upon arrival at Paro Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our representative and driven to Thimphu. If you'd like, stop by Tachog Lhakhang en route before continuing to Thimphu. Once you arrive, if time permits, visit the Folk Heritage Museum before checking in to your hotel. In the evening, explore Changyul Park, a newly opened attraction for both tourists and locals. Dinner will be served at your hotel.

  • Begin the day with a visit to Buddha Point, followed by a stop at the Memorial Chorten. Then, embark on your journey to Punakha, with a photo stop at Dochula to capture the breathtaking views. On the way, you can visit Chimi Lhakhang if you wish. Upon arrival in Punakha, check in to your hotel and relax.

  • Before heading to Paro, explore the Punakha Dzong and the nearby suspension bridge. Lunch will be in Thimphu. Upon arrival in Paro, visit the Paro Ta Dzong and Paro Rinpung Dzong. Later, take a leisurely stroll around Paro Kaja Throm for some souvenir shopping. Stay overnight at your hotel.

  • Start your day with an unforgettable excursion to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest. After breakfast, a short drive will take you to Satsam Chorten, where a 2-hour horse ride will lead you to the monastery's viewpoint. Ascend through a tranquil pine forest adorned with Spanish moss and prayer flags, stopping for a rest at Taktsang Jakhang (cafeteria). From there, a brief walk brings you to the monastery, dramatically perched on a sheer cliff 900 meters above the valley. Built around Guru Rimpoche’s meditation cave in 1684, the monastery is steeped in legend. According to local lore, Guru Padmasambhava flew here on the back of a flying tiger, Dorji Drolo. Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
